Childcare Ministry

The YMCA Christian Childcare is a wonderful new partnership between Calvary United Methodist and the Fargo-Moorhead YMCA. A unique blend of Biblical teaching, Christian staff, and superior standards in childcare, our ministry can partner with your family to build a firm foundation for your children. The YMCA Childcare at Calvary serves ages six weeks through sixth grade. It emphasizes the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and health in all classrooms. We also incorporate weekly Bible themes, Tuesday afternoon chapel services (4:00 p.m.), and daily Bible stories. God's infinite love and His timeless truths will be shared through lessons such as Noah and the flood, the birth of Jesus, Jacob's dream, and praising the Lord. Our goal is not only to teach children, but to also build character and minister to entire families.

The director of the YMCA Calvary Childcare Center is Collette Hellerud (281-4960).

Some of the attributes found in our facility include:

** Spacious play areas, including a large gym, interior & exterior play equipment, fenced
     playground access from each room, and beautiful windows offering an abundance of
     natural light;

** Individual cubbies and cots for nap time, child-sized sinks, toilets, tables, couches,
shelves, and toys;

** Parent information boards – including lesson plans, menus, schedules, donation items,
information about each teacher, and other pertinent information for families;

** Special interest areas – including dramatic play, art, science, math, sensory table,
library, puzzles, blocks, playdough, and manipulatives;

** Transportation to and from area schools for school age programs (check with director for availability).
